So you are planning for having a tutorial class? Well, that is a good idea. But why are you thinking about taking an online tutorial class? Are you really not able to attend one traditional offline class? 

Ok, it is good that you are planning for better academic performance by adding complementary tutorial classes to your regular school classes. But with a lot of changes in the ways of our education, now we have got a choice about the tutorial class… 

Online or Offline

Well, both the version have got their own strength and weakness, pros and cons. Today I will tell you something about this so that it can help you to choose the right one for you. 

Normally there are a few compelling purpose and benefits due to which you may need to choose online tutorial over offline tutorial. 

1. Time benefits – If your days in a week are already packed with tight schedules, let it be due to studies or due to some job that you may be doing besides your studies, then online tutorial classes can prove to be quite useful. Many needs to work beside studies and for them studying with an offline tutor may be next to impossible due to non-matching time schedules with the tutor.

   In this case online tutorial classes there are usually much better flexibility about class attending timings. The tutor can give you classes at both of your convenient time. Even if time synchronization with the tutor fails for live streaming, still there can be another option of recording of the class by the tutor.

   Later you will receive it through internet and listen to that class. And whatever query arises you can communicate those with your tutor who can solve them for you. 

2. Location benefits – In case of offline classes, sometimes you may need to travel quite a much distance to take classes from your favorite tutor. But as online training is rapidly developing so there is a scope or chance that you may find your favorite home tutor giving you lessons at your convenience and time.

   You need to sit at home with a tab or laptop or desktop computer and at least moderately fast internet to watch live classes, as well as download, recorded classes for future viewing. Thus you can attend classes according to your availability. You also save the travel time during which you would have been in a bus or cab and actually doing nothing much. You also save your energy and also health by saving your travel time, and now you can use your little available time for some more good work. And I think you can already guess by now that you will also be saving some money.

3. Tutor choice benefits – Choice of tutor is always an important issue in offline class as well as online class. But you will enjoy much more number and variety of choice in the case of online class than offline class.

   Well, how many kilometers you think you can travel to reach your offline class? And how much time can you give for the travel? Can I suppose it is maximum one hour? If it is one hour distance then you are already spending two hours of your day just to go and come back from your offline class. Now even if you have your private vehicle then how much distance can you travel in one hour? Shall I suppose 30 Kms? So you are supposed to find one good subject tutor appropriate to your choice within a radius of 30 Kms keeping your house at center.

    

   Well by luck if you happen to stay in any metro city or dense urban region then there are good chances that you can find one good tutor within 30 Kms or even much less. But in this country and also in this world how much percentage of students can avail the priviledge of staying in big cities? Not too many I suppose. So what is the way out for those many rural and sub-urban students? Online class is an available solution.

    

   Of course, I would never say that online class are exact substitute of offline class. It is a fact that offline class have got some very important and traditional benefits that online class can never have. But still I think that it is better to attend online class than to not taking the class at all. Well if you cannot have 10 out of 10 then is it not good to get at least 5 out of 10 or 6 out of 10? What do you think? 

Nowadays not only home tuition but also many mainstream and vocational online classes are available from different institutes and universities. Students do not need to spend huge amount of money for lodging and fooding to attend those courses. They can do that right from their home and at the end of the course they can take online exams and get certificates.

So naturally the scope of education have expanded considerably due to online classes. Today a student residing in a remote village of India can take an online course from MIT at USA or Cambridge University at UK. Just imagine about the expenses and other constraints, when you will want to physically go to Cambridge to attend your classes. 

Online Class Can Fit Over Offline Class Benefits 

Offline class do have some benefits and plus points that online classes cannot give. In education, student-teacher classroom interaction and communication plays an important role for proper education of the student. When an experienced and knowledgable tutor is physically present in class then in most cases he can approximately assess the understanding and intelligence of each and every student and thus deliver the lectures and instructions based on that understanding.

Even suppose in case of allotment of a project, there can be major difference. Offline tutors have much better idea about your skills, strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes. Thus when he will give you a project assignment then that will carry less of professionalism and more of personalization and customization which will make your project more of learning and less of stress.

Teacher’s self-confidence, teacher’s persona and charisma, body language, affection and understandings for his students and many such subtle factors are very much effective for better learning and education of the student. But again I would say that if 9 or 10 out of 10 is not possible then 5 of 6 out of 10 can be considered in most cases of 

general and vocational education. Staying hungry or eating little which one will you prefer when you don’t have enough food?
